(is it alright if I control Lightkit's invisible parents? Because I'm going to do a bio on them later...)
Lightkit yawned and stretched in the early morning sunlight. Her mother was still asleep in the nest, so Lightkit moved carefully so as not to wake her. Lightkit stretched some more and licked a paw thoughtfully. What should she do today? She was almost 4 moons old! Of course, there isn't that much to do. I'm just a kit, Lightkit thought unhappily. Only two more moons, and THEN she'd be an apprentice, but for now she had to hold on until her kithood was over. Bounding outside the nursery, Lightkit stalked an old ball of discarded moss, pretending it was a mouse. Pouncing upon it, she gave a startled mew as it slipped out from under her paws. It moved several pawsteps, then a big black beetle wriggled out from beneath it, waved its antennae at her disapprovingly and trundled off with a scrap of moss clinging to its shell. Lightkit sat up from her hunting crouch and looked up. The fresh new leaves were budding on the tree branches, and patches of light and shadow dappled the camp. Lightkit decided to practice her tracking skills. She wanted to be the best apprentice that ever became a ShadowClan warrior!
Lightkit sighed as she padded back over to her mother. It was time for food.
"Please, mother, can I pick out my own fresh-kill? Yesterday you brought me a bird, and it was all feathers and bones! Yuck!" Lightkit mewed as Stormfeather stretched and walked out into the blazing greenleaf sunhigh. The grey and golden she-cat smiled at her and licked her ear affectionatly.
"Fine. Just not anything bigger than your belly!" Stormfeather called as Lightkit raced across to the freshkill pile and immediately started tugging a mouse out of the pile. It covered her face as she raced across the clearing, back to the nursery. Munching a giant bite out of the side, Lightkit protested with a stifled mew as her mother shoved her face in beside her and took a bite.
"Gr gumf mf smack!" Lightkit yowled at her. Stormfeather nudged her and Lightkit swallowed.
"Go get your own!" she mewled. Stormfeather looked up as Crowfoot came padding towards them, a squirrel dangling from his mouth.
"Hunting patrol just got back," he explained, "I though you'd want to share." Crowfoot's eyes twinkled at Lightkit as she tugged the mouse away from her mother. Gulping the last morsels of meat down, Lightkit stretched out and took a nap.
Not much else to do... Lightkit thought sleepily as she let the sun bake her fur to a pleasant temperature.
