Nightfall on the open moorland... The scent of rabbit was slowly beginning to weaken as leaf-bare grew closer. The season where food would be in low amount, and the clan would begin to face illness and other difficulties... Most definitely a time that any leader would dread, only wanting the safety and well being of their clan to remain well and healthy. He worried for his clan, as any good leader would. But thankfully, there weren't many kits at the time he would need to worry about. But he knew well enough that no one would be safe from illness. And sometimes, it just picked you to be its vicitms. And what was looking even more worriesome for the clan was that there was no medicine cat here in Windclan... And that was particularly stressful for Swiftstar...
As Swiftstar stood upon the open moor, the sound of something stirring in the nearby bushes caught his attention. Ears twitch as do whiskers as his emerald eyes stare at the bush for several moments... And then, his eyes widen as he sees what, or rather who steps from the bushes. Dazzling, captivating blue eyes meet his own, and her color-less pelt shines beautifully as it's bathed in silver moonlight... Iceshadow.... She gives him a sweet smile, but her eyes remain troubled with something as well as happy to see him....
With a jolt. Swiftstar opens his emerald green eyes, muscles tense, mind spinning from his dream. Looking around, he sighs with trouble as well as relief. He was in his den... The air was getting colder, though. So, he shook himself, moving onto his powerful haunches as he began to groom his white chest. Morning light broke through some places in his den, dappling his tabby fur. Satisfied that he was now calm, he moved out of his den, and entered into the center of the clan. He inhaled, taking a deep, refreshing breath of the morning out. Sitting upon his haunches, he awaited for the members of the clan to fully awaken, waiting in wonder at who would join him on a border patrol. With his tail wrapped about his large white paws, he waited.

The colorless she-cat rested peacefully in her nest as she twitched slightly in her dreams.
She stood in a clearing that was bathed in moonlight and it reflected beautifully off her snow white coat, her blue orbs gleamed as she came to rest in a sitting position as the familiar scents of the world around her filled the air. She sighed simply before moving on with a simple grace until the scent of her leader filled her senses and she smiled as she moved throw the bushes and smiled at him though his bewildered look made her worry a little though her eyes were worried enough about the fact that the cold was fast approaching, and it meant that it was more likely for illness which though she wasn't of a higher position she still worried. But when he suddenly was gone after a few seconds she sighed simply and let herself wake from her pleasant dream.
Her beautiful blue orbs blinked at the light that was flooding into the warrior den though it was dull light that was telling her that leaf bare would be coming soon, she arched her back gracefully which sent her powerful yet lanky muscles into action as she flexed her claws and then sheathed them once more before looking around at the other warriors. She smirked simply before padding softly out of the warrior's den and out into the brisk morning air, her tongue skidded over her lips before she smiled sweetly. Her blue eyes gleamed as they came to rest upon the leader of her clan and the only male she would ever let close enough to ever really stealing her heart though he already had it in his paws without even trying, she stalked gracefully over to him with her smooth lanky muscles flowing like the mighty rivers and streams that she had seen over the moons. As she moved with that utter grace of hers the morning sun danced over her colorless pelt in a very captivating way that always seemed to attract the tom's looks though it was really only Swiftstar that could come to close to gaining anything from her, as she came close enough to him that her whiskers and pelt could touch him she brushed her pelt against his as he had done before. She smiled sweetly at him as she came to rest beside him but at an angle where she could see him and he could do the same, she sat with her tail resting over her paws before she even thought of speaking to him. Though her eyes gleamed with the hidden flame of her love for him she spoke in simple tones that were her very kind and sweet tones " Greetings Swiftstar, How are you doing this fine morning?" She said as she eyed him with her dazzling blue orbs that were smoldering beautifully as the sun rose slowly, she knew he was most likely out here because a patrol was needed and though she was totally and utterly crazy in love with him she would remain her level-headed self on patrols and anywhere in public. He didn't need more troubles with being a leader, it was best that if he felt nothing for her that it wouldn't be a bid deal and she'd get over it even though she highly doubted it. Life would go on as normally as possible until this whole mess is cleaned up, which she hoped it would so she could breath easily around him again.

As Swiftstar sat there in the open of the Windclan camp, he let his thoughts turn back to the dream he'd had last night. His mind began to ask interesting questions, questions he thought rather interesting and in need of attention. If he could have visions from Starclan, and remember... If medicine cats could do that... What about Iceshadow? Was she truly in the same dream? Or had his heart's want for her as his mate project her into his dreams, and place her there? But wouldn't her heart have to do the same? Wouldn't they both have to have a strong love for one anothe,r hidden or known, in order to be in the same dream? He sighed heavily, his broad and strong chest rising and falling, his fur ruffling slightly before he smoothed them. Oh, Starclan... How am I going to be able to lead a clan, fi my thoughts are always like this? Can I truly love, and lead just as well? His thoughts stung his heart, and yet the soothed his mind. Logic was a grand thing... But sometimes, it wasn't a good enough answer. But Starclan had far more important things to worry about and watch over than to be pondering over his little personal issues. he would have to find the answer on his own... Or perhaps Iceshadow could show him the way?
He tossed these thoughts aside as his perked ears caught the sound of branches rustling. His emerald eyes shift to the entrance of the warrior den, and sure enough, the one cat he could only ever passionately drema about appeared. The morning light complimented her so beautifully well, so perfectly, it was breath-taking. And for a brief moment, he couldn't breath. His chest fell still, his heart began to race. he felt, frozen in place as he watched her andance, her gait so enchanting, her pelt so dazzlingly beautiful. But her eyes... There was none that could ever come close in comparison. After all, it was her very own, sapphire blue eyes that haunted his dreams rather frequently. Finally, air found its way back into his lungs as she came within rabbit lengths of him. Refining himself and regaining his thoughts and taking control over his body once more, he twitched his whiskers in greeting, a small smile appearing upon his face, his emerald eyes glued to her beautiful, sparkling sapphires. She brushed against him, and again his heart raced, and words so long desired ot be heard caught in his throat. But again, he reagined control, and let the tip of his tail brush over her paws before her own tail hid them. Her voice entered his ears. Oh, so sweet... His smile grew.
" Things... Things couldn't be better, Iceshadow. I trust you slept well? It was a rather peaceful night, wouldn't you agree?"
And so, with the sounds of others beginning to stir, he knew he would have to keep his feelings low. But his eyes, and only for her glowed with a light warmth that could only be trasmitted between him and her alone... She knew he loved her... She knew he had feelings for her, and no doubt she could see them. After they'd shared that rabbit together, there was no hiding what the other felt, but rather they had to keep it from sight of the others. Now was not the time... But if Starclan allowed, the time would come, and perhaps sooner than they both thought....

Her thoughts drifted like the gentle breeze through the grasses that grew in her birthland, the very place she so wished to raise kits in. The thought had been coming up more often then usual and it made her start thinking about her dream and the fact it seemed like he was sharing her dream, which wasn't unheard of but very rare for something like that to happen. If only she could turn to the medicine cat of the clan but seeing as there wasn't one made her nervous because her questions would go unanswered until either she solved them herself or Starclan took pity on her, though she didn't want to worry them with her tiny personal problems. Her thoughts were pushed aside as she moved towards the handsome tom and his marvlous emerald gaze that haunted her thoughts and ruled her dreams as of late, the soft coarse ground felt like nothing as she strolled simply across the clearing to him though her beautifully blue gaze caught his chest stop moving for a few moments as if she took his breath away with the simplest grace of her movements. Though she never prided herself on her looks she was still one of the most breath-taking she-cats in Windclan, her whiskers twitched in amusement as she noted him gaining his breath back by the time she was a rabbit's length away from the handsome tom. His greeting was met with her brushing her kit soft pelt against his fine fur, she took in his scent and even slightly noticed the racing of his heart as her's did as well. She wasn't acting totally like her normal self seeing as she was teasing him more then ever, though many toms had tried to woe her and only failed horribly. Her movements and mood were all for him as the sparkling in his emerald orbs were for her, she smiled softly yet sweetly as the tip of his tail brushed against her paws before her own colorless white tail fell over them in a simple grace. Her orbs never left his gaze and even when she spoke and his smile grew her expression never really changed from that simple yet soft look she kept on her face, her motherly personality showed even more when she was around him. Her strong willed self would never admit that she was in love with him and that was why she was so different around him, the simple yet powerful smoldering in her eyes never died but replenished itself like the ocean did when it pushed itself against the rockes repeatedly without ever calming. Her ears twitched and swiveled as she caught his words and even noted the slight paused inbetween the first words he spoke, she blinked in amusement before saying in her lovingly beautiful vocals " That's good to hear Swiftstar, and I did indeed. The night was quite peaceful as were the dreams that flowed through my mind." She said with a slight purr seeing as she enjoyed the dreams as much as she did speaking with him in the flesh, though they never spoke in the dreams words were never need because actions had always spoke louder then words between these two that had so much to hide from the clan that a simple slip in public could damage everything they were working to hide when neither was sure if they could ever be together. She knew it wasn't the time to show the clan what was stirring between them, she lanky shoulder muscles tensed to the slightest degree and her motherly expression faded from her and was replaced with a level-headed warrior that was deadly with her claws though her blue eyes that never really left his emerald gaze burned with the fiery passion she felt towards him. The only person to be able to see this passion was the one worth it's beauty and strength, he alone could understand her but perhaps there was something planned for them. The struggle was only about to start and being in love is never an easy thing to do, but she was willing to go the distance if only he could understand that. It would make everything easier but as I've said nothing is going to be easy for this she-cat that is deeply in love.

Swifstar vaguely remembers what it was like to be a warrior. Despite the fact he did everything as best as he could for his clan, he remembered when he first saw Iceshadow, and how she had always had all the clan toms around her one way or another. But they only ever seemed to hold one another's gaze back then, knowing that perhaps, one day, they would fall in love and raise kits of their own. Back then, having a family and a mate seemed like it would ahve been so much easier for him. And in truth, it would have been. When he became the deputy, it got harder to see her, and in the beginning of him gaining the rank of leader, he hardly ever saw her. But now, things were in a fairly normal swing, and they even seemed to have more time to see one another, if only for a few brief moments. And it both made him happier and yet worried him slightly. Would she be happy with him as her mate? he was the leader, after all. And he had to make time for many things, and even more so if and when emergencies would arise... So, could she truly be happy with him as her mate? Did he truly deserve her love? It was hard for him to ask himself these questions, but he knew they had to be answered one way or another.
He smiled once more when her own smile graced her beautiful face. She was a beautiful cat, and it was no mystery why other toms sought out her attention and affection. Any tom would envy Swiftstar for the fact that she only ever looked at him with such a special, tender gaze, yet gave nothing but friendliness to the others. Which led him to wonder, did any of the other she-cats have feelings for him? He thought about it, the faces of the clan she-cats running through his mind. And yet, he could not think of one that cared for him like Iceshadow did. But that made things simpler, and at the time, things didn't need to be made more difficult. He was brought out of his thoughts when her sweet words rang out to him, his ears eagerly catching each word. He nodded, and smiled once more.
" I'm glad to hear you slept well, Iceshadow."
Her dreams? So, perhaps she had been in the same place as him... Perhaps she had been in his dreams... He sighed, one of his many questions being answered, but only partically. There was no real telling if she had had the same dream as him. And now was not the time for such personal conversation. He shifted his gaze hesitantly from her own, and scanned the camp. His deputy should be waking up soon. Perhaps he would lead a hunting patrol or join him and Iceshadow, and hopefully another cat on the border patrol. But still, there was much to be done, and time was escaping them... The border patrol needed to be started, though of course he had no real feeling of danger or anxiety about the borders. It had been a long time since another cat crossed over. But all the same, there was no harm in making certain it was staying that way.

Shadowscar shouldered his way out of the warriors den, blinking at the brighter morning light. A cool morning breeze ruffled his dark black pelt and tickled the scar on his flank. Shadowscar sat himself outside of the warriors den and licked the fur on his flank to quickly cover as much of the scar as he could manage. He slowly turned his head back up to the sky, wondering what made those cool breezes blow throughout the world, or at east as far as he'd been. Shadowscar's attentive ears caught the sound of two cats talking near the camp entrance. The slight breeze carried their voices to reach Shadowscar's ears, though they weren't loud enough to make out. Shadowscar's head turned to fix his green eyes on Swiftstar and Iceshadow talking quietly to one another. He lifted himself from his sitting position and stretched the kinks out of his muscles. He blinked once then padded his way over to where his leader and the warrior were sitting. He sat himself down next to Swiftstar and nodded his head in acknowledgement, then spoke.
"Good morning Swiftstar, Iceshadow."
The WindClan deputy nodded to the warrior as well. He turned his attention back to his leader.
"Has a border patrol been organized yet?"
He asked with a small hint of pride in his voice. Ever since having been named deputy, Shadowscar had felt a joy that he had never felt before: pride. His sad life as a younger cat had always ruined his general perspective on life, since no one had respected him or cared for him. Once he received the position of deputy, on the other hand, Shadowscar felt for the first time in his life that he belonged. He finally felt proud of himself and his accomplishment and reflected it in as much vigilance in his duties as he could muster. Shadowscar knew that every time he successfully completed a task, his mother would look down from StarClan and beam with pride and respect for her disobedient, hotheaded and irresponsible only son who had truly transformed into a cat worth knowing.

Swiftstar knew that falling in love would only make things more difficult than they had before. He knew that becoming leader whilst having this undying admiraction and fondness for perhaps the beautiful she-cat that stole his heart from him during his time as warrior, and even toward the end of his apprenticeship wouldn't be easy. But when he was named Deputy, what other choice did he have, but to take the position as leader when Whisperstar had died... He had once thought during the first few days of him being leader that his fondness would fade for her, that he would once again be able to fully, 110% be able to commit to the clan wholey. But after nights turned to moons, he realized that he would never stop loving Iceshadow. And when he thought of his deputy, Shadowscar, he was reminded of himself... Swiftstar never really had issues with respect from the clan. he was always level-headed for the most part, though like every cat, he had his moments. But Shadowscar was the best cat Swiftstar could think of to be deputy, because Shadowscar and himself, despite different experiences and, in general, being different cats, only ever wanted the best for the clan, and did whatever it took to fulfill their duties. Knowing that when he lost all nine of his lives, Shadowscar would take his place as Windclan leader made Swiftstar feel more at ease knowing he couldn't have made any better a choice as to whom was to be the next leader when Starclan called him to their side to hunt with his parents amongst the stars in the darkness of the night sky.
He kept his emerald gaze upon the beautiful Iceshadow, only wishes the moment would come where he could ask her to be his mate, and be at his side always... But no, now was not the time. he didn't even have the slightest idea when that time would come, but if and when it did, no doubt he would be scared out of his mind, but do it all the same. Love took great sacrifice to just hold between oneself, and one's fantasy... But his thought were interupted as he heard another cat padding over to Iceshadow and himself. Tearing his gaze from Iceshadow, they settled on the black, scarred pelt of Shadowscar. He returned the nod, listening to Shadowscar's words. And as his deputy sat beside him, his words soon finished, Swiftstar replied in calm tones.
" In a way, yes. I was hoping you and Iceshadow would accompany me on a border patrol."

Shadowscar noticed the pain and tension in his leaders eyes, but chose not to pursue it. It seemed to do with the attractive she-cat sitting next to Swiftstar, so Shadowscar figured that now would not be the right time to talk about it. He had known the pains of losing one that you loved, or in his case thought that you loved. Knowing that they had never loved you back was an easier pain to cope with, but in the WindClan leader's case he was in a place that Shadowscar had never reached. Shadowscar felt pity for the two warriors, and suddenly felt embarrassed to have trespassed but his sense of clan duty had blinded him from the thought until he had sat down. That conclusion made Shadowscar wonder to himself. Was clan duty getting in the way of him living a full life, of finding a mate and having kits? Was his strong sense of clan duty blinding him from his friends' feelings or his clanmates' emotions? Shadowscar shivered at the thought of neglecting others without even noticing. Then he suddenly had another thought. What if his clan duty was not to devote himself to the clan as a whole but to the individual welfare and lives of the cats around him. Had he lost sight of that? Shadowscar blinked in realization that he had to make a change, he knew that the importance of his clan came first but he could not let that stop him from interacting and actually knowing his clanmates. He knew at that moment that he had to make a change to himself, to better the clan and to better his life. Coming out of that altering discovery, Shadowscar turned his attention back to his leader's idea. He supposed that it wouldn't be too much of a problem if both the clan leader and deputy went on patrol, he'd just have to assign a senior warrior to organizing hunting patrols.
"That sounds like quite a refreshing idea Swiftstar, I'll just have one of the senior warriors organize the early hunting patrols until we get back."
Shadowscar flexed his paws, happy to be getting back on a patrol. He was very loyal to Swiftstar and respected him, which increased his excitement to go on the patrol. His relaxing excitement suddenly faded as he realized that Iceshadow and Swiftstar together on patrol might get a bit awkward. He very much liked both cats individually but he didn't know how they would act on the same patrol together. He scolded himself.
"Stop gossiping like an apprentice, Swiftstar is clan leader and Iceshadow is a warrior their business is their business and it's your job as deputy to just deal with it for now."
He felt better once he had reprimanded his childish thinking and once again felt the wave of joy at the idea of going on a border patrol with his leader, though he'd never admit to such kit-like emotions around even the closest of his freinds...

She remembered much from the days when she was a young she-cat, back then she was still quite beautiful and had toms wanting her attention and affection every minute of the day and many of them got into fights and were punished by any warrior that caught them fighting though most of the time she found them annoying. Because none of them caught her eye like the tom that sat before her though they rarely saw each other when he started to climb the ranks within Windclan, she always harbored her feelings to-wards him though she always acted like nothing had happened between them because though she understood that since he was in such a high seat of power he wouldn't have time for her. She never let that fact cloud her judgment to-wards the tom, she would always love him regardless though if another more suitable she-cat came along she might even set aside but that was a big might. Her love for him was true and had manifested early on in her life when their love was possible, she wanted to be his for such a long time she didn't know if it'd ever be possible, her doubt was always killed before it could do anything to her hope that they had a future. His words met her eager auds and she smiled simply before saying " I suppose it is though the fact I can't keep from thinking about my dream, it seemed as if a certain tom had shared the same dream." She sighed as if saying she would never know though her hinting would be enough to see if he knew it as well, her ears swiveled as she noted Shadowscar walk over to them and sit down next to her crush. At his words she greeted the raven hued tom with a friendly touch of her nose against his shoulder in respect to-wards his rank and his skills which she admired, though her greeting looked more to one shared between very close friends and or mates if you thought in that direction but it was more to show her respect. She pushed her worry to the back of her mind as sat herself back down, she listened to the two toms and let her whiskers twitch in amusement. The two of them were so a like it made her very at ease to be near both of them though she only truly loved one of them, she had never worried about Swiftsatr being jealous of another tom that she was around until just then when she touched her muzzle against Shadowscar's shoulder, she watched the raven hued tom for awhile after their leader had spoken asking him if he wanted to join the pair on border patrol. Which she enjoyed almost as much as she did Swiftstar's company, her beautiful blue eyes sparkled brilliantly when he replied to Swiftstar's words. She purred simply before saying " This is going to be fun." She said in a amused voice as she kneaded the ground eagerly though her worry to-wards how Swiftstar was going to react to her gesture bothered her a little but not too much seeing as she trusted he'd act like an adult, but then again not all toms act civil when someone they find interesting is threatened to be taken away from them. What would he think? Would he think that she wasn't interested in him or something even worse like she was in love with the sable hued tom instead of him, none of that was true she'd only ever love him and he should know that.If she let this go on any longer her worry would consume her and could cause things to become really awkward, which she didn't want to happen when it could ruin the relationships of everyone in the group. She'd rather not have that happen, so she prayed to starclan that her stupidity would be overlooked by those around her. She inwardly scolded herself for being so stupid, though she wasn't the only one scolding themselves over something so kit-like.

Oh, the sheer agony of thikning he could never be hers, and she his.. It was practically torture to the large, muscular mackerel tabby tom. He loved her. He knew it from the moment their eyes first met, when they had their first conversation... The first time he saw her under the silver moonlight... Oh, Starclan, he'd never seen anything so beautiful. Her colorless pelt shining like silver, her blue eyes dancing and sparkling like saphires. Was it, or was it not hard to tell that Swiftstar had fallen far, and fallen hard for the she-cat who was within his company... It was such a hard thing for him to hold his feelings for her in. It was hard for him not to think about his dream, and how he wished he hadn't been awakened from his dream by the light of the morning sun against his lids, and the chill of the morning air. If he had stayed longer, just a little bit longer to tell her how he felt. How he longed for her touch ten times more than all the other admiring toms combined... But wouldn't that be kit-like? To say such things? But then again, it was poetic, it was how he felt. And he knew that he could never change that. No matter what hapepned, eh would always love her. But all the same, if she never loved him, if she found another... Oh, Starclan knew how his heart would break, and his emotions unwind... He never wanted the feelings, the moments they seemed to have rather often recently to end. He remembered sharing that rabbit atop Outlook Rock... That was perhaps the happiest moment he could recall with Iceshadow. He'd never before been able to be so close to her... It had been a heart-racing, mind-blowing experience for him. And he wanted to have it again. Her words rang in his ears, and he nearly stopped breathing. So, she had had the same dream. He gave her a gaze with his emerald eyes. He then leaned forward, adn whispered into her ears, softly.
" On the open moorland, under Starclan... Icy blue eyes... And a she-cat. That was what I had dreamt. And I could only wonder..."
But he turned back to Shadowscar, and nodded, a grin on his face. He knew it seemed a bit curious for the leader to be whispering to a warrior, but he'd rather not have anyone at the moment put the pieces of the puzzle together so quickly... But then, a moment that nearly stopped his heart, this time. He watched as she stretched out her muzzle, and touched his shoulder. But he restrained himself from letting his expression s change, though perhaps a quick flash of fear, and perhaps even pain darted across his emerald gaze. She never touched him like that... Not that he could recall... And he thne realized, she never did with any other toms... So perhaps... Perhaps it wasn't he for which she felt, but perhaps Shadowscar? After all, he and Shadowscar were rather similar... Perhaps those gazes she'd given him were simply because he reminded her of Shadowscar.... Suddenly, he wished he hadn't told her of his dream... What if she had dreamt of Shadowscar, and not himself? He felt mouse-brained, and hurt. But he shoved it aside before it had a chance to surface. Clearing his throat, he replied to Shadowscar.
" Yes. I shall allow for you to appoint the senior warrior. Iceshadow and I will wait for you at the camp entrance... Unless you wish for her aide...?"
His words were careful to keep any of his current feelings hidden. And so, he sat there, tail resting atop his large white paws. And then, he noticed the familiar silver pelt and icy blue eyes of Silverleaf. She didn't seem occupied at the time, and she wasn't too new a warrior. And her hunting skills, they were definitely admirable. And if he hadn't known any better, and Iceshadow's pelt hadn't contained the design which mad eher so unique, he would have trouble distinguishing the two of them. He turned to Shadowscar again.
" Perhaps Silverleaf could use a chance at some responsiblity? She's a fine warrior. The younger warriors could learn a great dela from her."
And then, he fell silent, waiting for someone to say something, glancing between Iceshadow and Shadowscar. But his gaze would rest upon Iceshadoow a single moment longer.....

Shadowscar's new found want to pay closer attention to his clanmates, needed much more practice. He saw Iceshadow's gesture and thought almost nothing of it, the thought that Swiftstar might think of him as competition never even crossed his mind. Shadowscar's head was so full of clan duty and now new ideas that he didn't realize that the following awkwardness was because of that simple gesture. He turned his head to Swiftstar at his offer to have Iceshadow accompany Shadowscar to recruit a senior warrior. He wasn't quite sure to make of it, then a thought dawned on him. His leader must be putting clan duty before his own feelings! He must be willing to sacrifice Iceshadow's presence for a short time while she helped do what was needed for the clan! Shadowscar's thick head made up this foolish epiphany without any other ideas to shed true light on the matter. Shadowscar looked at his leader proudly, still thinking that it was all for the clan.
"I don't think that will be necessary, but thank you all the same."
He said, into thought and pain filled eyes. With that simple emerald look, he began to realize how similar he and Swiftstar were. He had never really thought that he was like any cat at all, since he used to be an outcast. But the more he thought about it, the more he fully realized it. Shadowscar shrugged off the discovery with a nonchalant interest, then turned his attention back to his leader's suggestion. Shadowscar thought about Silverleaf, she was a good cat with a very lovable attitude and a decent head on her shoulders. It was quite the good idea actually, Shadowscar wondered why he hadn't thought of that himself.
"Well, that sounds like an excellent idea Swiftstar, I'll go tell her now."
Shadowscar padded off to-wards the warriors den, still just as clueless as he had started out...
