A blue sky, a shaking tree, a drifting leaf, a hopping frog, a soft breeze, a stealthy cat. All were there, but still something was wrong. It was written in the sky, told in the trees, breathed in the leaves, croaked in the frog's rasping voice, whispered in the breeze, and yet, all this was gone unnoticed by the cat. The slender feline, so closely conctentrated on her prey, blocked out the rest of the world, and as she pounced, so graceful, and her claws dug into the birds flesh, a high pitched call rang out through the forest. The bird, had called out, just before its last bit of life ebbed away. Still, the cat didn't notice the eerie silence after the shriek.
But what was wrong? This was unknown, to everyone.
The she-cat slipped through the shadows, her calico pelt swishing with her every step. Her mood was light, and relaxed; she might even laugh if the possibility came. Viperheart was her name, the unpredictable deputy of ShadowClan. She was respected, and possibly feared too. But she couldn't care less. Her opinion was the only one that mattered to her, no one else's.
Suddenly, Viperheart stiffened. Her ears stood erect, pricked and swiveling. She unsheathed her claws, and the lust for battle flooded into her eyes. Those eyes, those pale green eyes...lit up with the want..the need...the lust for blood spill. It was a disturbing sight, as the ShadowClan cat turned around slowly towards the scent of the unidentified cat. She spoke, her voice dripping with want, a venomous threat hiding behind her words. "Who's there? Come out and fight me...show me blood.."

It slipped through her claws like dew sliding off a leaf. The tiny creature had just escaped from her clutches right at the very last moment. The moment that sat between the extended claws, dooming the prey to its final moments and the harsh bite of thorn-sharp teeth. It had been faster than her. Not smarter, just faster than the young she-cat, that had to be it.
“There is no possibility that a mouse can be more cunning than me.” Her words came sharply from parted lips. A brown ringed tail swished among the dead pine needles that littered the ground. Rainpaw was getting frustrated, for she had only caught two pieces of prey. She could not return to her clan without four, which would make her look unsatisfactory. And unsatisfactory wasn’t what she was aiming for. She had to be the best apprentice; she was much better than any cat that came in before or after her.
Fixing her position from a more desirable one compared to her crouch, Rainpaw surveyed the space around her. All scents of prey had seemed to disappear, thanks to the squealing of her prey between her paws. With the flick of an ear, she stood slowly, letting her small frame find an easy rhythm to travel at. If she didn’t pace herself, she wouldn’t be able to battle train later with her mentor. She had to keep up her muscle mass and strength for any battle that loomed.
A sudden cry of a bird startled the ShadowClan apprentice, making her tabby fur stand on end. As she stumbled slightly forward, following the echo of the prey’s call. Her eyes locked on the calico pelt of the ShadowClan deputy. Slowly, the fur fell flat on Rainpaw’s shoulder only to be raised once more by the wild look in her fellow clanmates eyes and the gleam of her claws… --- Words: 314 Character: Rainpaw of ShadowClan Completed

Clearly it seemed I was more fit to pass off as a warrior instead of a medicine cat which was what I was born to be surprisingly, even with the way I grew up and how I turned out to be seeing as my powerful muscles and broad shoulders weren't that of a normal medicine cat. Most of us were slim and and lankly built while I was a power house of muscle and claws, the elders thought it was interesting to see me care for others and how easily I could gain respect. They ought shared with me about things that happened before I was born , and I shared with them tid bits about how to better help their aching joints and other problems they always seemed to need help for. Even though I tell them they always come asking for whatever they need I find it quite enjoyable since most of the elders were sweet yet sharped tongued cats that were fun to be around, most of the younger cats didn't think so but then again they were kinda weird and lacked the curiosity that I had always held. My paws brushed over the ground as I padded rather smoothly through the terrain in which I had grown to learn about, knowing it's poisons and it's cures I could tell you more about it then any warrior could. The ease of how my muscles flowed always seemed to attract the attention of the she-cats in my clan even though basically I was off limits since I was a medicine cat and all, my ears swiveled and flickered as I looked around with my blue orbs before opening my powerful jaws and taking in the scents around me.
My whiskers twitched in amusement as I noted the smell and then sight of marigold which was one of the herbs I needed to collect before the peace that hung over the clans disappeared, gathering a head I padded off with the flower's scent clouding my sense of smell for the most part. But it wasn't hard to smell or hear the two shadowclan cats, I smiled slightly as I padded over to the younger cat that seemed frightened by the deputy. I touched her shoulders with the tip of my tail before I padded out into the clearing with my marigold still in my powerful jaws, my eyes flickered with deep amusement that seemed utterly cold compared to my normal happy go lucky looks. I set the marigold down next to my front paws before I said coolly in my tenor tones " I'd rather keep my blood on the inside where it belongs, Viperheart." My smart alack comment was clearly showing that I didn't fear the calico deputy that seemed all to ready to fight and tear someone's ears off but it sure wasn't going to be me on the receiving end of her deadly claws, I didn't unsheathe my claws nor show much hostility to-wards her I only looked at her with a cold amusement that sent my vividly blue orbs gleaming with a darkness most shadowclan cats held. I was no different even if I healed my clanmates instead of defending them like Viperheart or Rainpaw did, I was still an important part of the clan and as the deputy did I demanded respect even if it took more effort to gain it then it did to be deputy.
I shifted my massive form which sent my muscles rippling under my silver coat that was splashed with many stained marks, my tail lashed lazily from side to side even flickered once in awhile at the tip seeing as I was not going to fight her but if she attacked first I would defend myself like I was trained to do even though I was indeed a medicine cat I was trained for a moon or two as a warrior just so my skills in fighting weren't horrible and I could defend my clanmates if it ever came to an all out war or some foolish clan cats who thought they could attack the Shadowclan camp and think it would be an easy win. It was easy to see I was content with staring down the fierce warrior in front of me, I had no reason to be afraid because I think I've seen worse then the blood-lust that lingered in the she-cat's eyes.

We've all been lost for most of this life (lost for most of this life) Everywhere we turn more hatred surrounds us "I'd rather keep my blood on the inside where it belongs, Viperheart."
Viperheart glared at Adderstrike, bloodlust still flowing through her body. Her eyes danced with burning anger at the medicine cat who she had hoped had been some loner or rogue that she could've torn apart. She turned away, muttering, "Hmph." Her voice was soft but furious as the bloodlust started to fade away to nothingness. Though her goal had been to find blood, the fear in Rainpaw's eyes made her feel good. She had frightened someone, that felt nice to the unpredictable she-cat.
But Adderstrike made her angry. His words made her feel like her ego had been bruised, by one mere sentence. Those twelve words had flew right through her shield of pride and hit her in a weak spot, like an arrow, true to it's target. She padded to a corner of the clearing and sat down at the base of a tall dark pine tree, wiggling into a comfortable position in between its roots. Her thought were contemptuous. 'I would probably apologize to Rainpaw...it'd be shameful to though. Hmph, Adderstrike. He makes me sick.
Viperheart looked up and locked eyes with little Rainpaw. The calico's thoughts told her to apologize, but she just looked at her coolly. In her mind, she was arguing with herself, one half saying to apologize, the other telling her it was too shameful. Viperheart's better half seemed to win though and her mouth opened slightly to speak. "Sorry to frighten you little one." The deputy's mood had altered once more, and her voice was gentle, almost caring like a mother. Her eyes softened as they continued to gaze at the younger cat as she awaited her words.
