The chill in the air was hardly a problem to the sleeping tom. His white fur tipped and tinged with silver in areas was thick, the air kept out and away from his skin. But it wasn't just his own fur, but the fur next to his large, muscular body. Besides him, sharing a large bed made of moss and dried ferns, was a snoy white form, its sides gently rising and falling. Spiritfur shifted, then finally lifted his head, forest green eyes turning to fall upon the snowy white form of his little brother. He was smaller than Spiritfur, but measured up in spirt and will power. In truth, Spiritfur was proud to have Soulpelt as his brother. Shifting and stretchiung the muscles in his shoulders and haunches, he tucked his large paws beneath his chest, his tail wrapping tightly around his side. The nights were beginning to get harder and more restless for Spiritfur. Ever since the gathering, things had gotten more complicateed. Not within the clan, but within himself. Time and time again, he tries to push the troubling thoughts, feelings, and wants aside. But time and time again, he failed in pushing them aside. But to his own relief, they had yet to affect how well he carried out his daily tasks. And even his little brother had yet to know that there were things that were haunting him in his sleep, things that were always in the back of his mind...
His forest green eyes were half open, and soon, he felt his brother Soulpelt stir beside him. Moments later, his half open forest green eyes met the brillant golden eyes of his brother's, also half, but after a quick stretch of every muscle, his eyes soon openedfully, and a happy grin formed on his face, following by his little brother's cheery voice. Good morning, brother. Sleep well? Spiritfur tensed, but offered a grin, forest green eyes opening fully after he had his own stretch.
" Yeah... Could always be better, though, if it weren't for this chilly winter just ahead..."
He felt his brother's nose on his shoulder in sympathy, before he moved away. At the entrance of the warrior den, Soulpelt turned. I'm gonna see if there's a hunting patrol getting ready to leave. Wanna come with? A moment passed where Spiritfur considered it, but gently shook his head. Soulpelt shrugged, and trotted out of the den, leaving Spiritfur alone with a few still sleeping Riverclan warriors. But shortly after, Spiritfur got to his own paws, and padded quietly out of the den and into the open camp. Taking a deep breath of fresh air, he sat there, waiting to see if someoen would issue a border patrol, or if he was needed.

[H.A.I.L] A tail twitched back and forth in the quiet warriors den in the RiverClan camp, belonging to a slim she-cat, slumbering peacefully and wandering the world of dreams. She kept moving, sliding a paw over, or flicking her tail every once in a while. She looked quite amusing, but the expression on her face was serene. Her whiskers moved as her breath became foggy clouds as it hit the crisp morning air. Suddenly, a sharp snap! made Hailpelt's head shoot up, her muscles tense and amber eyes scanning the den for danger. She sniffed the air; nothing unusual. Her shoulders drooped as she relaxed visibly, and her former serene expression faded into a bored half smile.
Hailpelt pulled herself into a sitting position, drawing her tail to her side so she could smooth out the uneven tufts of fur sticking out in various places. Her tongue moved across her tail in a sort of mechanic rhythm, slowly and softly. The RiverClan warrior let her tail drop back to her side, and bent her head down to lick her chest. She flicked her tongue over her paw, and swiped it over her ears, and gave her whiskers a final lick, Hailpelt got to her paws and quietly slipped out of the den, yawning widely.
Once outside of the den of sleeping warriors, Hailpelt stretched her hind legs, each in turn, flexing them straight out behind her luxuriously. She looked to her side, where Spiritfur was, and wondered if she should join him. But then she glanced over at the fresh-kill pile, noticing it was running low. Though, still, Spiritfur was a friend, and just ignoring him was wrong. And so, Hailpelt turned her head, smiling softly and meowed a cheerful greeting.
"Good morning Spiritfur. How was your night?"

Spiritfurt was losing sleep over this little dilemma in his life. Whether or not he liked Hailpelt, it had yet to be seen that she shared the same feelings for him. So, perhaps, she didnt. And what if she didn't? Well, Spiritfur would simply move on through life, hoping to keep her close as a friend, and nothing more. But what if she did like him as more than a friend? And what if his restless night was truly because he did have feelings for her? Well, if I do have feeling, might as well throw them out there when I'm certain, despite whatever happens. Yes, that was his idea of solving problems. Once he was sure of something, he took care of it. And he wasn't about to treat this any differently. Besides, what tom wouldn't find Hailpelt beautiful, and admire her hunting skills? Only a mouse-brained fool would excuse such beauty and skill. But again, he was probably just over-reacting to his little brother's words. Soulpelt did enjoy messing with Spiritfur. The off white silver tipped tom scoffed lightly to himeslf. That was it. He was just over-reacting. He soon spotted his little brother's snow white pelt laying with another young tom warrior, chatting with a fish between his paws, some bits here nad there missing from it.
It wasn't too long after Spiritfur noticed his brother that he heard the soft padding of a cat coming out of the warrior den. He turned his head curiously to see who was appearing, and with him being off guard, he was rather surprised to see Hailpelt appear. It was like thinking of her seemed to make her magically appear from places that he should ahve expected she would have. He watched her calmly as she glanced over at him, over toward the fresh-kill pile, then back at him. He offered a grin, and perked his ears when she started speaking. He shrugged his muscular shoulders before letting his words enter into the air.
" Alright, I suppose. Could have been better..."
Again, he offers a friendly grin, and turns his forest green eyes toward the fresh-kill pile. She's probably hungry... He got to his paws, tail twitching a couple times before standing still and erect.
" Want to go get something to eat, before we talk more?"

[H.A.I.L] A bad habit Don't forget it you better
The mixed feelings for Spiritfur that dwelled deep inside of Hailpelt's heart were carefully hidden. She pushed them away if they ever tried to surface. She almost denied the feelings, lying to herself that Spiritfur was a close friend and only a close friend. She told herself over and over that even if she did think of him more than that, he wouldn't feel the same for her. She was stubborn with herself, and preferred to ignore her emotions rather than open her eyes and look at them, the one thing that she never did, and maybe never would. All the thoughts of Spiritfur and his captivating, forest green eyes, his calm voice that was music to Hailpelt's ears.... all these thoughts were drowned in strong emotions of denial and stubbornness.
All these feelings remained hidden as Hailpelt gazed at Spiritfur, his voice wrapping around her like a wisp of warm air. A casual grin brightened his face as he looked over at the she-cat and stood up. Hailpelt tilted her head to one side, her gaze concerned at the tom's comment on his night.
"Want to go get something to eat, before we talk more?"
Hailpelt nodded and waited for Spiritfur to walk towards the fresh-kill pile. She looked at his perfectly groomed silver pelt, sleek and shining. Her eyes made their way up to his face, so handsome. Almost immediately she was caught in his eyes; so green, so pretty. She couldn't look away; she was trapped. Trapped in those green depths, unable to pull herself away. Her heart suddenly started beating faster, throbbing inside her chest. The feeling was painful, but the pain felt nice almost. And as Hailpelt stared into Spiritfur's eyes, she couldn't help but realize that she had fallen for him. Now I'm my own enemy I don't hear you now Tag: Hailpelt! Spiritfur was torn between what he wanted, and what he thought he should have. he knew that he wanted to do what was best for the clan. He wanted nothing more than to make sure they got the best services they could from him. And when he thought about him and Hailpelt... He felt as though he should want her. What tom didn't want to be in love with her? She was so beautiful, so strong, and so devoted to Riverclan... Perhaps that was why he had feeling for her, because they shared a simple common interest, and that was to provide the clan with whatever they could muster, as close to perfection as possible. They both worked hard for the clan. But the difference between them, was that Spiritfur was a more serious cat. Not to say that Hailpelt wasn't serious... But she knew how to have fun, and to be laid back. Such things were practically foreign to Spiritfur.... But perhaps that was why his mind was telling him that he should let his feelings for her stay where they were, and never let go of how he truly felt for her... But he pushed these thoughts away. Love was something that wasn't really an option.... was it? Could he love her, be a mate and future father, and still provide for Riverclan as well as he was now? And besides, did Hailpelt even want kits? She was a great warrior, and she seemed so happy to be doing whatever tasks were asked of her... He couldn't truly see her as a queen, stuck inside the nursery all day. it just wasn't her. It just didn't seem like that would be how she would want to live, if only for a little while.
He watched her nod, and padded towards the fresh-kill pile. Once he was in front of it, he took for himself a medium sized fish. One would think for a cat as large as Spiritfur, he would be eating larger peices of food to sustain himself. But he didn't need a whole lot of food. A medium sized fish, or one small fish and perhaps a vole were good enough for him for the rest of the day. After all, there were other cats, like queens and elders that deserved the larger peices. At least, in his mind that was what he thought. With the fish in his mouth, he turned and looked back to Hailpelt, before moving off a few fox lengths and laying down, his fish in front of his paws as he waited for her. And while he waited, his thoughts turned to how she'd looked at him.... He had tried to tell himself she was just waiting for him, and perhaps didn't want to make him think she liked him by looking elsewhere, or being rude by looking away from him. But still, he couldn't help but feel as though, when their eyes had lingered upn one another's, that there was meaning behind it... He felt as though, for a split second, she had looked a bit longer than to just be waiting for him... Maybe she saw his feelings for her reflect within his forest green eyes... Pushing the thought and the lingering image of her own beautiful eyes, he waited for. Perhaps his empty stomach was beginning to get to him... But still, he waited for her to join him, so that they would eat together, then talk a little more before perhaps setting out on a hunting patrol or border patrol.

[H.A.I.L] Jumping out of her trance, Hailpelt followed Spiritfur, her thoughts rushing through her head. They whirled around so fast, she couldn't rest on a single one, but they all said, and they all knew, that she did indeed have feelings for Spiritfur. She chanced another glance at him, this time staring hard at his shoulder so she wouldn't get lost in his eyes again. Hopefully he hadn't noticed the last time... or had he? Watching as the tom picked a fish out from the fresh-kill pile and padding a short distance away to settle down, Hailpelt looked at the pile, noticing that it was running low. She took a vole, gripping it in her jaws and going over to Spiritfur to join him once more.
She realized that, even though he had been hungry, he had waited for her to get her meal. She averted her gaze, staring at her vole and suddenly feeling like she wasn't hungry. Her stomach seemed to turn at the thought of love, and she reluctantly nibbled at the vole in front of her. Looking to start a conversation, Hailpelt blurted out, "Would you like to go hunting with me? The fresh-kill pile is running low." The she-cat immediately regretted saying this, as all the two cats ever talked about was work, work work. And so, Hailpelt glared at her paws, silently wishing Spiritfur would come up with a better idea.
